Here at SORA Marine Training, we specialise in Powerboat courses, offering a range of courses for different abilities, ages and goals.

We are proud to prove our UK built training craft, as the only school in Qatar to provide their own boat, you will not have a better boat to learn on than our Humber 7.0 RIB, fully equipped to maximise your learning and boat driving skills!

If you already have your own boat – dont worry we can help you too! our team have decades of experience in various craft, shapes sizes and engine types. we can help you get the most from your boat to ensure peace of mind when on the water, leaving to you enjoy your time afloat!

It is anticipated that in Qatar there will be a compulsory qualification that will soon become mandatory in Qatar for all drivers of any powered craft on the water.


RYA Level 1 course

Minimum Age: 8 Years
Duration: 1 Day

The level 1 course is designed to introduce the total novice to boating should they not know if they will continue with their education or require a international level of certification.

Children from the age of 8 can take our Level 1 Starter course, and from the age of 12 can take the Level 2 Handling course. Children will be taught in suitable boats that aren’t too big or heavy to handle, and the course will be adapted to suit the age and ability of the child. After the course children will able to drive a powerboat under the supervision of an adult.

RYA Safety Boat course

Minimum Age: 16 Years
Duration: 2 Days

 


RYA Level 2 Certification

Minimum Age: 12 years old
Duration: 2 Days

Provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. It aims to teach boat handling and seamanship in powerboats. It focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed, and collision regulations, heres an idea of what to Expect & much much more;
